Fitzpatrick’s shop scoops friendliest business award

CORK is still the friendliest place to do business.

That’s the view of a group of shoppers from Junior Chamber International (JCI), Cork branch, who spent the last few months on an ‘underground’ mission to assess how friendly shops were to customers.

Their overall view was that staff in Cork businesses are very friendly, courteous and helpful, according to the judges of the JCI Friendly Business awards, organised n conjunction with the EveningEcho.The overall winner was Fitzpatrick’s shop in Glounthaune.

The category winners in the event, supported by the Silver- Springs Moran Hotel, were:

Family run business — max 10 employees: Lennox Hearing, Oliver Plunkett Street.

Small/franchise business — max 30 employees: Educo Gym, Penrose Wharf.

Large business — 30 employees plus: LeisureWorld, Bishopstown.

From the many businesses nominated,16 were shortlisted to go through to the second stage.
